My sql backup job started failing last week. When I try to open the job I receive the following error message: Error enumerating files ':SQL\*' (1168 - Element not found.) I found another post on the forum and have tried the steps listed to no avail.
Is there something else I should try. |

Hi
What version of UltraBac are you running? What version of Sql are you backing up (32bit or 64bit) and is this a local or remote backup?

Hey Derek,
We are using UltraBac 8.1 and we are backing up sql 2000 32bit databases remotely (same subnet). Thanks. |

Hi,
In version 8.1, we need to have the Sql Client tools installed on the Backup Host. These tools can be found on the Sql 2000 install cd. If you can not install these tools on the backup server, another method would be to install a full version of UltraBac on the Sql server. Then create the backup set on the Sql Server and save it. The set will be located at c:\program Files\UltraBac Software\UltraBac8\data. Move it from there to the same location on the backup server. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for that information. In order to install a full version on the SQL server that would require another license, right?

No, you do not need a license to install UltraBac, only to run a backup. You should have no problems installing UltraBac onto the SQL Server and create a backup set.
