![]() If you had a failed dissimilar hardware restore and need to rerun the restore again, keep this in mind:
You can skip restoring all the data, and simply redo the dissimilar hardware portion of the restore. To do this, boot into UBDR Gold and go to tools/UBDR/command prompt and type regedit. from inside the registry editor, go to HKLM\Software\UltraBac Software\UltraBac\AgentInfo\Image Disaster Recovery Agent. (You may need to create the last two subkeys) inside this subkey, create a new Dword Value called skipdatarestore and make the value = 1. Once you have made this registry edit, you can close the editor and run the restore as you normally would. You will notice that it goes much faster as it will not restore the data from the volume, but only the dissimilar hardware part of the restore. Be sure you only use this option when you have the system volume selected for restore. If you use version 8 of UltraBac & UBDR Gold, you will need to swap "UltraBac8" for "UltraBac" in the registry path.
