![]() Here are the proper steps when doing a Windows 2008R2 or Windows 7 Image restore:
1. Boot into UBDR 2. Select the Backup and Select disk0(if more than 1 disk is present) 3. Select Disk0/Partition1, deselect the rest of the partitions (Only the 100mb partition should be the selected) 4. Select Action->Restore 5. Click the Advanced Button, and Select Wipe MBR 6. Once Wipe is complete, reboot Server and repeat steps 1-4 then go to step 7 7. Click the Advanced Button and from the dropdown select Restore MBR and continue 8. Once MBR restore is finished, select Disk0/Partition1 from dropdown (No options) and restore 9. Deselect Disk0/Partition1, select Disk0/Partition2 (Typically the system partition) 10. Select Action->Restore, select Disk0/Partition2 from dropdown. If this is the system partition and this is different hardware select Restore to different hardware and replace existing drivers as the only option. And restore partition. 11. Deselect Disk0/Partition2 and select Disk0/Partition3 if it exists and restore with no options and restore. Repeat as needed for other partitions. 12. Go to Tools->UBDR->Command Prompt, from here type: bootrec /RebuildBcd 13. Reboot machine into windows. Last edited by Patrick Johnson : 11-30-2012 at 08:01 AM. |
