Default Ultrabac 7.1.5 and SQL Server 2005 Express

I'm trying to backup a SQL Server 2005 Express database with Ultrabac 7.1.5 and am receiving the following errors:
SQL message 009B (server FINANCE, database msdb) : 'pipe' is not a recognized Device Type option..
SQL message 013F (server FINANCE, database msdb) : Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'with'. If this statement is a common table expression or an xmlnamespaces clause, the previous statement must be terminated with a semicolon..
SQL error 2717 (server FINANCE, database msdb) : General SQL Server error: Check messages from the SQL Server., (none)

Using activity monitor, Ultrabac is trying the following SQL command:
backup database [msdb] to pipe='\\.\pipe\UBSQL_FINANCE_msdb_3204'with blocksize=65536

From the SQL Server 2005 documentation, it looks like named pipe backup devices have been discontinued. Is there a way to not use pipes when backing up?

Thanks,

Will

Hi Will,

UltraBac will have full support for Sql 2005 in version 8.2, Currently we can backup Sql 2005 Express, but you will need to upgrade to version 8.1 in order for the backup to work. Here is a link on how to configure it.

If you have an maintenance agreement with us, you can download version 8.1 at www.UltraBac.com/download and you will need to contact our licensing team to get a new license. You can contact them at licensing@ultrabac.com or 425-644-6000.
