Default NTLDR is missing

NTLDR is missing

This is typically caused by an error in your boot.ini file. this can happen when doing image restores and manually altering volumes rather than using the restore MBR functionality.

You can typically resolve this by editing the boot.ini to point to the correct partition where the system volume is.

You can also boot into UBDR and use the diskpart utility to mark the appropriate volume as active.

A third option is to use a windows install disk and boot into the recovery console. From here, you can logon to the install of windows and run both fixmbr and fixboot commands. These should be used only if the other two options have failed.
