![]() Hi,
I'm having some issues with an Ultrabac 9 file by file backup. Firstly I have a few backups setup and working fine, exchange etc but I have one that reports the following errors. Error! 19/11/2012 21:10:38 SkipToEot: The system cannot open the file. (4 - The system cannot open the file.) See http://www.ultrabac.com/kb/error.asp...=1537&detail=4 for additional information. Error! 19/11/2012 21:10:38 Error: GetPosition has failed. Error! 19/11/2012 21:10:38 Error: GetPosition has failed. Error! 19/11/2012 21:10:38 Synchronize failed: Error (6 - The handle is invalid.) See http://www.ultrabac.com/kb/error.asp...=0151&detail=6 for additional information. I have spoken to Ultrabac support who advised to perform a chkdsk on the source drive which I have along with usual f/w update on NAS etc. Also have added the following to the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\UltrabacSoftware\Ultra bac\DeviceInfo\Win32 File Device BackupPath0EnableHPCIFSCompatibility Anyone have any ideas? Thanks |

![]() mrwayneadavis,
because of the lack of a standard for CIFS, there are multiple versions on the market. Adding that registry key works on some, but not all variations. Do you get this error message during the backup or the associated verify? Do you have space on a network drive hosted on a Windows machine that you can run a test backup to? This would be a great troubleshooting step. You could also try using an external hard drive connected to any windows machine on your network as well.
