![]() Hi,
I'm new to UltraBac. I have a database that's running on what appears to be a form of SQL server called Adaptive Server Anywhere. In Services it's called SQL Anywhere Best FAS. FAS is the name of the program. I have the UltraBac SQL agent running on the server ... but it does not recognize the database as an SQL database apprently. In UltraBac's logs I'm getting an ERROR OPENING FILE ...... SHARING VIOLATION. Anyone have any ideas ??? Larry |

![]() Hi Larry,
Typically you would get the file in use errors, when doing a File-By-File Backup. Can i have you email me the logs at Derek@ultrabac.com and i can further assist you once i receive them. Thanks!

![]() Hi Larry,
I went over the logs that you sent me. To answer the questions that you originally posted: Since this is not a Microsoft Sql Database, you would need to do a File-by-File backup, and use the locked file agent to back up the data base. As For the Second part of the errors. You are getting the sharing violations in your File by File backups. Which means that the files are in use by another software. In this case the other software is the sql database. To back these files up, you would need to use the sql agent.
