Lightbulb http://www.ultrabac.com/kb/error.asp?error=2495

Hi,

I keep getting this error
"Currently it is not possible to perform a incremental/differential backup of partition 2 [X:\]. The DF2K driver has been instructed to start monitoring of this volume. See http://www.ultrabac.com/kb/error.asp?error=2495 for additional information."
when it does this it ends up backing up the entire drive which causes my drive to fill up by next weeks backups. Does anyone have any idea why I would keep getting this error? There is nothing out of the ordinary on the partitions that it throws this error on but it happens almost twice a week.

I have the latest df2k driver files on my local drive .
My Ultrabac version is UltraBac 8.1.0 - Build Date: May 25 2006

Please help me.

Hi,

When you do a incremental / differential image backup, UltraBac creates a file on each partition called UltraBac_DF2K.IDX. That file records what indexes have been changed since the last backup. If that file is deleted, or becomes corrupted, then UltraBac performs a full backup and recreates that file.

Typically when we see this error on a constant basis, the most common source is the antivirus / spyware software programs deleting or corrupting the file. To resolve this, put an exception to not scan *.idx Files.

Hope this helps!
